The Crap Shack

Now that Ive finished failing my Mexican American culture final I can make a countdown post to organize myself. I was always to busy/tired to do it but it doesn;t seem important any more. Id rather thank everyone that helped me become a better journalist and helped me through the semester. I look foward to learning more. 

 So now that I have 4 hours till dinner, 4 days untill my specialized reporting and expressive culture class, 15 days till my NJ/NY trip Im really glad of how this semester turned out. 

I was sitting in class sipping my diet coke and trying to catch up in a class Im failing when some girl passes me a notebook with something written on it. She tells me to read it, and did you know:

"Diet coke contains asparatame, yadda, yadda yadda, causes brain tumors and cancer."

 So now Im supposed to feel bad about drinking my diet coke just beause a stranger has all of a sudden decided to  take interest in my health. Besides there has been no study that has proven asparatame to cause cancer or tumors.

 I believe in snopes

So the restaurant I work at just aquired a lot of metal heads/potheads to serve the people (technically Ive been replaced by these people), although one of them left to serve booze at Barcode. They are the biggest bunch of underacheavers and it makes working with them a hassle.

For example pothead number one, Juan, evaded a table with one baby, theyre not that hard to deal with actually, and made me take the table. (That actually happens a lot when it comes to males working with female waitresses but anyways femle politics is dull, although so is my waitressing job.)

Juan recently became a father and I had to ask

 Ana: don't you have a kid

Juan: (awkward look followed by a nod)

He also told me he was drinking since 9 am, that just plain scares me.
